Visual DESIGN PORTFOLIO

What is visual design?

Visual design focuses on the aesthetics of a site and its related materials by strategically implementing images, colors, fonts, and other elements.  A successful visual design does not take away from the content on the page or function.  Instead, it enhances it by engaging users and helping to build trust and interest in the brand.

How many Years of visual design Do I have?

I have seven years and counting of in-house and freelance experience, and visual design is one of my strengths. Some of past employment and freelance clients have been in the non-profit sector, manufacturing, disability services, after-school programs, and commercial/industrial security solutions industry!

My visual design experience has included not just graphic design, but web design, branding, marketing, advertising, e-mail marketing, flyers, and large format items such as banners!

Take a look down below to see what I did for each client/employer!

Lawrence doors: Graphic and Web Design Concepts

I have been working with Lawrence Doors since mid 2021, and what a change of pace it has been since I stepped out of the realm of marketing and communications. With this 98 year young company, Lawrence Doors helped me reinvent myself and also taught me a lot about B2B marketing!

While the company has been around for some time, they definitely aren’t going anywhere soon. Lawrence Doors is constantly looking to expand their presence and customer base, and as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, it is up to me to help them achieve that goal as long as I am in that role.

ices education: graphic and web design Projects

With ICES Education, I began as the Marketing Assistant and worked my way up to the title of Marketing Director. While my time was short, the experience was a breath of fresh air as this was the point where I taught myself photography, WordPress, and motion graphics!

One of the best parts about working with ICES Education (which is now known as Action Youth America) was being able to have more creative control and direction than past employers. This position allowed me to flourish and become someone new, and the work is proof that it was meant to be.

United cerebral palsy (UCPLA/Momentum): graphic and web design Projects

As my first position right out of college, I began as the Marketing Associate and worked my way up to the title of Communications and Marketing Associate. Being my first job outside of the classroom, this was a very powerful learning experience. It was also my first time working with Constant Contact, which some of you know as an email marketing service.

Within the almost three years I was there, I ended up accomplishing more than I had thought. I was in charge of not just our print materials, but also with initiating the first website redesign. While UCPLA has now rebranded as Momentum (Innovative Disabilities Services), the mission remains unchanged. It was an honor to be a part of a company that advocated for their clients.

Freelance / miscellaneous visual design projects and concepts

This section is dedicated to all the freelance projects and concepts that I have created over the years. Working with freelance clients is always great as you get to meet different people with different requirements.

While i may have not heard from these clients in the last few years, it doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate the opportunities that they provided me with when I needed them. Take a look at what I’ve done so far!
